PwC is proud to announce that its current Southern Africa CEO Hein Boegman has been appointed as its new Africa CEO, with effect from 1 July 2015. Dion Shango has been appointed as CEO for PwC Southern Africa, also with effect from 1 July 2015. Dion Shango is the first black African to be appointed in this role within PwC in Southern Africa.
Boegman takes over the reins from Suresh Kana, who has held this position since the firm’s Africa integration in 2012, and who retires from the firm on 30 June this year. Boegman was elected by some 400 PwC Africa partners across the continent. PwC’s Africa Region extends across three Regions, namely the Southern Africa, Eastern Africa and Western Africa market areas.
Kana says: “The appointments of Hein and Dion reflect the confidence of our firm and its leadership in their abilities and proven track records, and enjoy the support of our Africa and Southern Africa partners. I look forward to working closely with them during the transition period to 1 July 2015.”
Boegman says: “I am honoured to have been elected to lead our Africa firm and look forward to working closely with Dion in his Southern Africa leadership role, as well as with the CEOs of our East and West market areas. Our practice in Africa with its over 8,000 staff members is a strategically important asset in the PwC Global network.
