Johannesburg, 31 January 2023 — PwC is pleased to announce that Dion Shango has been re-elected as the firm’s Africa Territory Senior Partner for another four-year term, effective from 1 July 2023. Dion first assumed the position on 1 July 2019, and previously served as Regional Senior Partner of PwC Southern Africa and CEO of PwC South Africa since 1 July 2015.
Anastacia Tshesane, PwC Africa Governance Board Chairman, says: “We would like to extend our congratulations to Dion on his re-election as PwC Africa Territory Senior Partner. Dion is an exemplary leader and I am confident that he will continue to lead with the clarity of purpose and stakeholder value creation evidenced in his first term.”
Dion was elected following a process in which some 400 PwC partners across Africa participated. PwC’s Africa region extends across three market areas, namely Southern Africa, East Africa and West Africa.
Dion says: “I am honoured to have been elected for a second term at an organisation that I truly love and believe in. I have been at PwC for more than two decades, and during that time I have seen the organisation expand across the continent and go through various cycles of development. This has been a pleasure and I am looking forward to continuing to work with our people, growing our organisation, building trust with our stakeholders and ensuring PwC Africa continues to be a strategically important part in the global PwC network.”
