CGISA / Integrated Reporting Awards 2023

Fit for purpose: The pivotal role of the integrated report

Overview

PwC is a non-monetary sponsor of the CGISA Integrated Reporting Awards and acts as convener of judges during the results evaluation process.

Hosted by the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa in partnership with the JSE, the Integrated Reporting Awards has been rewarding excellence in corporate reporting since 1956. The institute pioneered these types of awards, which have become more widespread in recent years. The name of the awards was changed to Integrated Reporting Awards in 2013 to reflect the changed focus.

The awards offer an opportunity for a peer-on-peer comparison and measure of good corporate governance and risk management practices. The primary objective of the awards is to encourage accurate and transparent financial reporting and full disclosure of all relevant information to stakeholders.

This year, the Judges Report includes the usual emerging themes and trends per category of the CGISA Integrated Reporting Awards. We also discuss the ongoing demand for sustainability information from the perspective of investors, as well as provide an overview of the three main sustainability reporting frameworks.
