Risk and quality

The Africa Governance Board and Africa Leadership Team provide oversight and strategic direction for PwC's ERM, with the Chief Risk Officer responsible for network risk management, including annual reviews of Key Network Risks (KNRs).

Key risks are assessed based on client service quality, stakeholder trust, legal compliance, strategic achievement, talent retention and revenue across member firms.​

PwC Africa's key risks include geopolitical and macroeconomic conditions, regulatory and policy changes, public perception, climate resilience, physical security, quality of service and technology disruptions.

PwC engages with various stakeholders, including employees, clients, regulators, standard-setting bodies and NGOs, to address concerns and maintain trust.

PwC uses global, cloud-based technologies to manage client and engagement acceptance, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering standards and mitigating risk.​

PwC adheres to the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, emphasising integrity, objectivity, professional competence, confidentiality and professional behaviour.​

PwC opposes corruption and requires firms to implement systems, policies and procedures to prevent bribery and corruption, consistent with the UK Bribery Act and US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.​

The PwC Global Independence Policy, based on IESBA standards and other regulations, governs personal and firm independence, non-audit services and business relationships.​

PwC has a cyber readiness plan, tools for monitoring and incident response, and investments in ISO standards to protect client data and maintain trust.​
