Message from PwC Africa CEO, Dion Shango
It gives PwC Africa great pleasure to announce the admission of 36 new partners to the firm, effective from 1 July 2022. This is the highest number of new PwC partners ever admitted across the continent, with 53% of them female.
In South Africa, including our new partner cohort, 40% of all partners are now African, Coloured and Indian, with 32% of them female. Across PwC Africa, 28% of all partners are female.
We are immensely proud of our new cohort of partners as they are a true embodiment of The New Equation, which is about growth and investment.
One of the ways in which we are investing in our business is growing our partnership on a sustainable basis. Our new partners have distinguished themselves through their ability to inspire our people, act with integrity, make a difference, reimagine the possible and care.
Their admission also shows our commitment to making significant progress in achieving our diversity ambitions.

Through the solutions that have been developed for the water sector, I will be driving private and public sector collaboration projects towards the implementation of large-scale water infrastructure projects that will drive the stimulation of local economies and ensure the provision of water to rural households.

The restoration and rebuilding of trust is one of the challenges that our clients face in the coming years and the quality of service we bring as PwC is integral to this. As an insurance specialist, I will help our clients in their IFRS 17 implementation journey. I will involve our community of solvers who are experienced specialists in providing assurance in IFRS 17 to bring insight and value in this complex insurance standard. I am also passionate about the empowerment and development of future leaders, so I endeavour to contribute to mentoring, teaching and coaching the next generation of leaders.
