Future cities

Major cities across Africa must grow for the continent to succeed, but rapid urbanisation brings with it an influx of human needs and challenges. At the same time, these cities are experiencing a wider set of global megatrends, including technological breakthroughs and social changes that transform the nature of work and the role of government; global economic shifts that require cities to redefine themselves to compete internationally; and problems such as climate change and resource scarcity that threaten lives and livelihoods.

We help cities to better understand how they can drive more equitable growth, social inclusion, community and economic prosperity. Our Cities practice is a multidisciplinary centre of excellence, and our approach to developing solutions for cities is grounded in our citizen-centric methodology and guided by our future cities model.
